John was a featured speaker (for the second time) at the 4th Annual Workers’ Compensation Distinguished Lawyer Award sponsored by The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and by Kid’s Chance Inc. of Missouri—a charitable organization that provides scholarships for the children of workers who have been killed or disabled as a result of work-related injuries. |

John was a participant in a panel discussion regarding recent changes in the Missouri workers’ compensation law, presenting the injured workers’ viewpoint at a seminar sponsored by the Missouri Self-Insurer’s Association. Later that same day, he presented oral argument before the Missouri Eastern District Court of Appeals in a workers’ compensation claim in a “case of first impression” involving the interpretation of the workers’ compensation law’s statute of limitations. |

Mike attended American Trial Lawyers Association’s annual meeting in Seattle. There he served as moderator of the Workers’ Compensation and Workplace Injury seminar. Topics included Federal Workers’ Compensation benefits, Longshore benefits, Social Security Disability and Medicare benefits, and the representation of injured workers with immigrant status.
This meeting ended Mike’s year of service as Chairman of the Workers’ Compensation and Workplace Injury section of American Trial Lawyers Association. |
